Kate Middleton Shines in Queen Mother’s Priceless Jewellery at Coronation Reception
In a stunning display of elegance and regality, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, dazzled in a collection of priceless jewellery once owned by the Queen Mother at the coronation eve reception held at Buckingham Palace.
Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, the couple exuded joy and warmth as they welcomed esteemed guests, including Jill Biden, to the Royal Residence ahead of the crowning ceremony for King Charles.
Earlier in the day, the Prince and Princess of Wales had the honor of hosting a special reception at Buckingham Palace, where they greeted Governors-General and Prime Ministers from across the Realm.
In a surprise gesture, they also took a leisurely walkabout in London, engaging with the public.
Later, Prince William, 40, and Princess Kate, 41, returned to the Royal Residence to co-host the coronation reception for international dignitaries who had traveled to the UK to witness King Charles' ascension to the throne.
For this momentous occasion, Kate graced the event in her second outfit of the day, donning a beautiful blue draped dress by Self Portrait.
Complementing her attire were sapphire and diamond fringe earrings, which were once part of the Queen Mother's cherished jewellery collection.
These earrings hold immense historical and economic value, making them a coveted possession.
Interestingly, Meghan Markle had expressed her desire to own these exquisite pieces, but access to the collection was denied by Prince William and the late Queen.
Notably, Princess Kate possesses other remarkable pieces from the Queen Mother's collection, including the Greville Festoon necklace, an astonishing Cartier creation valued at £8.2 million.
Additionally, she was seen wearing a plethora of brooches, such as the Pearl of Dee brooch, the James Bow brooch, the Modern Emerald brooch, the Topper's Art Deco brooch, the Lily of the Valley brooch, the Rock Crystal brooch, and the Diamond Thistle brooch, among others.
During the reception, Princess Kate engaged in conversations with various esteemed guests, including Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, as well as US First Lady Jill Biden and her granddaughter Finnegan Biden.
She also reconnected with the First Lady of Ukraine, Elena Zelensky, along with other first ladies, heads of state, and members of royalty and celebrities.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find themselves in a downward spiral, lacking the gravitas and star power they once possessed.
With their popularity dwindling, many supporters are gradually distancing themselves from the couple.
The seeds of their downfall were seemingly planted when they participated in a controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
Since then, they have been at odds with the royal family, causing a significant rift.
While the interview may have resonated with the Hollywood elite, it was met with disdain in the UK.
According to a YouGov poll conducted shortly after the interview aired, 48% of Britons held a negative view of Prince Harry, while 45% had a positive view, resulting in a net score of minus 3.
This marked the first time that attitudes towards him had turned more negative than positive.
Similarly, Meghan's popularity took a nosedive, with only 31% of Britons holding a positive opinion of the Duchess of Sussex, compared to 58% who viewed her negatively.
This net rating of minus 27 represented a significant drop from just over a week prior when it stood at minus 14.
As the coronation approaches, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, will pay homage to King Charles, pledging his loyalty and allegiance.
