Prince Harry’s Self-Read Recording of Memoir “Spare” Hopes for Grammy Nomination

's publishers, Penguin Random House Audio, are optimistic that his 15-hour self-read recording of his memoir “Spare” will secure a nomination for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

In a recent post on Twitter, the publishers uploaded an image of the book cover with the caption, “For your Grammy consideration,” listing the category of best audiobook, narration, and storytelling recording.

Since its global release on January 10th, Harry's audiobook has gained immense popularity, becoming a viral sensation.

Among the captivating stories in the memoir is 's account of suffering from frostbite on his private parts during a trek to the North Pole before and Catherine's wedding in 2011.

Penguin Random House also shared images of several other titles, including Michelle Obama's “The Light We Carry,” Bernie Sanders' “It's OK to be Angry About Capitalism,” and Arthur C. Brooks and 's “Build the Life You Want,” all vying for Grammy nominations.

Currently, Grammy voters are in the first round of voting, where they review thousands of entries from record labels and publishers to determine the final categories and official nominees.

This round began on October 11th and will conclude on October 20th, with the announcement of the 2024 nominees scheduled for November 10th.

Harry's memoir, released globally on January 10th (after an early leak in Spain), has generated mixed reactions.

Rumors suggest that Meghan is working closely with Grammy organizers to potentially purchase the award, especially after the couple was overlooked by the Emmys.

Additionally, they have mobilized their employees to create virtual votes in support of “Spare.”

However, some individuals view Meghan's actions as manipulative and indicative of her delusion and instability.

Following Penguin Random House's tweet, numerous comments flooded in.

One person sarcastically suggested giving the Grammy to the Sussexes, claiming that it would further discredit the awards.

Another individual questioned whether the ghostwriter of the memoir would also receive an award, as it is widely known that the actual writer penned the book that Harry narrated.

A third commenter speculated that Penguin Random House's promotion of “Spare” was a desperate attempt to boost sales after receiving negative publicity.

The cost of a Grammy remains uncertain, with some questioning whether it would require a significant sum or simply Harry's dignity.

Despite the debates and skepticism surrounding the memoir, Prince Harry and his publishers remain hopeful for a Grammy nomination and the recognition it would bring.
