Title: Tyler Perry Hints at Lilibet’s Christening as Meghan’s Parenting Techniques Questioned
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have been raising their young children Archie and Lilibet in California.
While Archie's royal christening was confirmed three months after his birth in 2019, it remains uncertain whether his younger sister has been baptized.
However, Hollywood producer and close friend Tyler Perry recently dropped a hint suggesting that Lilibet may have already been christened.
If Lilibet has indeed been christened, it is unclear whether the ceremony took place during the Sussexes' visit to the UK in June 2022 for the Platinum Jubilee, or if they opted for a private baptism in Montecito, where they currently reside.
Traditionally, royal babies wear a replica of the original Spitfield's silk and Honiton lace christening gown, which was made in 1841 for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter.
This iconic gown has been worn by a total of 62 royal babies, including the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Archie's christening took place on July 6, 2019, in a private chapel at Windsor Castle, with members of the royal family and other guests in attendance.
The ceremony itself was kept completely private, and Harry and Meghan only shared a couple of official portraits after the event.
The Sussexes have chosen not to disclose the names of Archie's godparents.
However, there are reports suggesting that three of them could be Harry's friend Charlie Van Strombenze, his former nanny Tiggy Pettifier, and close family friend Mark Dyer.
The most recent royal baby to be christened was Princess Beatrice Edouard de Maupilly's daughter Sienna, who was born in September 2021.
Sienna's baptism took place in a private ceremony at the Chapel Royal in St. James Palace last April.
In other royal news, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their second child this summer.
The couple already has a two-year-old son named August.
Interestingly, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first moved to Southern California, they spent some time at Tyler Perry's house.
While this may have seemed like an unusual situation, Perry explained how their friendship developed during the finale of Harry and Meghan's Netflix series.
During an interview, Perry revealed that he initially reached out to Meghan before her wedding, expressing his support and awareness of the controversies surrounding her relationship with Prince Harry.
However, Perry later asked the couple to leave his home after receiving reports of Meghan allegedly mistreating his long-time staff.
Despite this incident, Perry and the Sussexes remained close friends.
Meghan was even filmed having a conversation with Perry the day after her and Harry's Oprah interview aired.
Perry emphasized that there was much more they could have shared but chose not to reveal on television.
According to author Tom Quinn, a close friend of the Sussexes, Meghan Markle is reportedly determined to provide her children with a life away from the pressures and expectations of royal titles.
She is said to prioritize giving them a top-tier education and instilling American values.
It seems that Meghan and Harry's focus has shifted towards the next generation, as they aim to create a stable and fulfilling life for their family outside the confines of traditional royal duties.
