Claims Queen Elizabeth died because of the COVID-19 vaccine spread without evidence
Queen Elizabeth II's death at the age of 96 was announced by Buckingham Palace on September 8.
While the royal family did not disclose the cause of her passing, unfounded claims linking it to the COVID-19 vaccine circulated on Twitter.
Several tweets insinuated a connection between the queen's demise and the COVID-19 vaccine.
One tweet suggested that the vaccines specifically targeted older individuals, citing the queen as an example.
Another claimed that she had been poisoned by the vaccine.
However, here's what we actually know.
According to the palace, Queen Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Balmoral, where she spent her summers.
The announcement came shortly after it was revealed that she was under medical supervision at the castle.
In a statement posted on Twitter, her son, King Charles III, expressed profound grief over the loss of his beloved mother and sovereign.
Notably, he did not mention anything about the COVID-19 vaccine in his message.
It's worth noting that Queen Elizabeth and her late husband, Prince Philip, received their first COVID-19 vaccinations in January 2021.
Approximately a year later, she tested positive for the virus.
Reports at the time confirmed that she had been fully vaccinated and had even received a booster shot prior to her diagnosis.
Throughout the months that followed, media outlets reported on the queen's health issues, including her battle with COVID-19.
However, there were no reports suggesting that the vaccine posed any threat to her life.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, older adults are more susceptible to severe illness from COVID-19.
However, studies have shown that individuals aged 65 and above who have received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines have a significantly reduced risk of hospitalization due to the disease, up to 94%.
These vaccines have been deemed safe, with severe side effects, including death, being rare.
In conclusion, the claims linking Queen Elizabeth's death to the COVID-19 vaccine are unsubstantiated and lack evidence.
Based on our evaluation, we rate these claims as false.
