Prince George’s Role in King Charles’ Inauguration: What to Expect
Excitement is building up as the coronation ceremony for King Charles approaches.
The event, scheduled to take place at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, has everyone eagerly anticipating what the day will bring.
However, the question on everyone's mind is what role will Prince George play?
Prince George, second in line to the throne, was initially expected to have a prominent role in the coronation ceremony.
But according to Royal Editor of the Sunday Times, Royer Nikia, Prince George's schooling schedule might impact the decision of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
In a recent interview with True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat, Royer explained that while they are very keen on involving Prince George, his role will likely be quite low key.
The palace is conscious of his return to school right after the coronation and wants to ensure he isn't overwhelmed by the attention.
However, he may still have a smaller official role.
The Telegraph has reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton are still in discussions about what would be best for their son considering the media attention he will receive.
Meanwhile, Prince George's siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are expected to attend the ceremony as spectators without any official role.
But what about the other members of the royal family?
Will the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, attend the coronation?
According to author and royal expert Wesley Kerr, they are likely to be present.
Despite speculation that they might not attend after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, Kerr believes they will come.
He mentioned a lovely royal gallery where the Sussexes can have front row seats, plenty of cutaways, and opportunities to flaunt their fantastic outfits.
The coronation holds great significance for the royal family, as it allows them to showcase their blended family and commitment to tradition.
Roya Nikia highlighted how the Queen Consort, Camilla, wants her grandchildren to have an official role at the coronation rather than relying solely on aristocrats she might not be familiar with.
This approach signifies a departure from the 1953 coronation, emphasizing the importance of involving her own family.
Undoubtedly, the coronation of King Charles will be a grand spectacle.
While the focus will primarily be on the new king, there is considerable excitement surrounding Prince George's role.
Regardless of his involvement, it is evident that the Prince and Princess of Wales are prioritizing his well-being and ensuring he isn't overwhelmed by the attention.
