Prince Harry’s Chance to Reconcile with Prince William and King Charles: A Royal Historian’s Perspective

has the opportunity to mend his differences and resolve grievances with and , if reported peace talks between the prominent royals do take place.

However, for the meeting to be successful, the Duke of Sussex needs to be willing to compromise rather than issue demands to his close relatives and firm members, according to a royal historian.

Marlene Connick, a U.S.-based royal historian, believes that it is crucial to keep the discussions confidential until they are concluded, if Harry, William, and Charles come together for talks ahead of the King's coronation.

In an interview with Express.co.uk, Connick emphasized the need for a neutral location for the conversation.

She expressed her support for Harry but acknowledged that he has recently gone too far.

Connick believes that there should be a conversation on different levels because it is evident that Harry is hurting, bitter, and displaying a sense of entitlement.

Connick provided an example of Harry recounting how William was always given more than him, including a larger portion of the bedroom in their nursery at Balmoral Castle.

She further stated that Harry and Charles, as father and son, should have the opportunity to work on their differences in a similar meeting.

However, she stressed that the meeting should take place away from the public eye, with no knowledge of it until the palace issues a statement after its conclusion.

Ultimately, Connick believes that they should resolve their issues privately as a family.

Regarding the feud between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals, Connick emphasized that it is merely a family matter and does not affect the constitution, considering Harry's minor role in the firm and his position in the line of succession.

She suggested that other royals who may have felt slighted by Harry's recent comments should also participate in the talks, along with experienced aides trusted by all sides.

However, Connick believes that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Kate, Princess of Wales, should only be included in the discussions after the father, son, and brother have had the opportunity to communicate with each other.

For a meeting of this nature to succeed, compromise and understanding from all parties are crucial, according to Connick.

She emphasized the importance of , , and other members of the royal family sitting down with Harry, rather than the Duke interrogating them.

Listening to each other is essential, and compromise is necessary on both sides.

Among the topics that could be discussed during the potential meeting, Connick highlighted how Meghan was treated while she was in the UK, as well as why Harry waited until his interview with ITV's Tom Bradby to address the allegations of racism within the royal family, which were brought up during their sit-down with .

Connick emphasized that addressing how Meghan was treated is of utmost importance.

However, she also pointed out that Harry should have ensured Meghan understood the protocols and expectations of being a royal, rather than a celebrity.

If Meghan had been properly prepared, they could have been successful as a couple within the royal family, with numerous engagements and visits.

Unfortunately, this was not the case.
