Harry and Elton John Clash in French Holiday Home

has opened up about a heated disagreement he had with his close friend, Elton John, during the last night of their holiday at the Rocketman singer's French home.

In a surprising turn of events, Harry's book does not pay tribute to Elton, despite mentioning him several times.

Instead, the book reveals details of a holiday disagreement and a song refusal.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have often expressed their gratitude towards Elton John for generously loaning them his private jet free of charge.

Elton had even paid for a flight for Harry, Meghan, and their son to ensure their safety and offset carbon emissions.

However, following the snub in Harry's book, Elton has decided to no longer provide them with his private jet.

Rumors are circulating that Elton John has had a serious falling out with the couple, leading to speculation that Meghan won't be attending any Oscars parties.

Elton, who was a close friend of , famously moved everyone to tears with his special rendition of “Candle in the Wind” at her funeral.

He also performed at Harry and Meghan's wedding reception in 2018, and the couple later stayed with him in France during a difficult period.

During their stay, Harry and Meghan enjoyed scooter rides with Elton's husband, David Furnish, and witnessed their son capturing hearts with his resemblance to Diana.

Harry writes that he often caught Elton studying Archie's face, knowing it was because of the strong resemblance to his late mother.

However, tensions arose on the final night of their stay when the atmosphere soured during a conversation by the pool.

Harry congratulated Elton on finishing his memoir, “Me,” but things turned sour when Elton revealed it would be serialized in the Daily Mail.

Harry recounts the moment, saying, “I saw my face in spare and he quickly looked away.”

The Duke questioned Elton's choice of newspaper, which had caused him so much misery, to which Elton replied that he wanted people to read it.

As the conversation continued, Harry reminded Elton of specific lies that had been printed about him but realized that Elton had accepted a £100,000 check from the same publication.

Despite feeling frustrated, Harry chose not to push the issue further, stating, “I loved him, I'll always love him, and I didn't want to spoil the holiday.”

In 2019, he defended Harry and Meghan against false character assassinations, particularly regarding their use of private jets.

Elton had even provided them with one of his private jets for a trip to his villa in Nice.

At the time, he expressed his distress over distorted and malicious accounts in the press and emphasized that he wanted the young family to have a private holiday in the safety and tranquility of his home.

In another revelation from Harry's book, he shares that he had asked Elton to sing “Candle in the Wind” for the anniversary of his mother's death.

However, the Grammy award winner refused, considering it too macabre to celebrate Diana's life and achievements.
