Meghan Faces Setback as Trademark Request for Archetypes Denied

has suffered a major setback as her request to trademark the word “archetypes” has been rejected.

The US Patent and Trademark Office refused the application, citing potential confusion with an existing brand.

It seems that Meghan categorized her podcast as “downloadable audio recordings and podcasts for anything concerning the cultural treatment of women on stereotypes facing women.”

This choice of words proved problematic as it clashed with a 2015 trademark by Archetypes LLC, an Arizona-based firm specializing in books and articles about nutrition, fitness, sexuality, and self-improvement.

It's worth noting that Meghan's attempt to trademark a word associated with cultural treatment and stereotypes was puzzling, considering she had focused on the topic of stereotypes rather than archetypes in her podcast.

Perhaps if she had chosen a more unique angle, such as exploring her own life experiences with guest appearances, the outcome might have been different.

However, the rejection stands, and Meghan's lawyer, Marjorie Witter Norman, has applied for an additional three months to refine the application.

In the midst of this trademark setback, Sir Trevor Phillips, a prominent writer, businessman, and former chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, has made some thought-provoking comments.

He asserts that no one cared about Meghan's race and that she and had a golden opportunity to effect change but chose not to.

According to Sir Trevor, Britain is not a racist society and has made significant progress in terms of inclusivity and acceptance.

Sir Trevor's words resonate with many who believe that Meghan and Harry could have used their platform to make a positive impact on millions of lives.

The fact that they did not seize this opportunity is seen by some as unforgivable.

Critics argue that they have instead capitalized on their royal status, engaging in what can be perceived as grifting and race-baiting for personal gain.

Adding to the mix of opinions, GB News host Patrick Christies recently commented that Meghan lacks the intellectual wisdom and capacity to engage in projects such as Arts Wipes.

While there may be differing views on Meghan's abilities, it is widely acknowledged that a successful podcast hinges not solely on the host's lived experiences but also on their ability to ask thought-provoking questions.

A good example of this is seen in an interview with Jordan Peterson, where the host's question about the color of emojis was widely criticized as irrelevant and shallow.

Meghan's podcast, Arsewipes, often featured personal anecdotes from her own life, allowing her to connect with guests and explore various stereotypes.

However, there is a fine line between sharing experiences and coming across as a know-it-all.

It is essential to strike a balance between empathy and humility to foster genuine connections.

Interestingly, one of the standout episodes of Arsewipes was the interview with Mariah Carey, who playfully referred to Meghan as a diva.

Meghan's response, however, seemed contrived and lacked authenticity.

As we await the future of Arsewipes, it is clear that Meghan is determined not to let her podcast go to waste.

She is likely to invest significant time and effort to revive the project.

While Meghan's journey with trademarking archetypes may have hit a roadblock, she remains committed to her endeavors.
