Earl Spencer Wishes Americans a Happy Thanksgiving in Recent Post
In a recent social media post, Earl Charles Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana, extended his warm wishes to all Americans on the occasion of Thanksgiving.
Earl Spencer, who has recently visited both Manhattan and Malibu, shared a heartfelt message accompanied by a turkey emoji and two images, each representing one of the locations he had been to.
Fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also known as the Sussexes, speculated that Earl Spencer's visit to California might have included a meeting with the royal couple.
However, being in such a vast state does not guarantee a family reunion, especially considering the busy schedules of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have been traveling extensively in the past month.
It is worth noting that if Earl Spencer had indeed visited his nephew and his wife, there would have been photos and announcements from both sides of the pond, as is customary for such occasions.
In his book “Spare,” Prince Harry revealed a touching gesture from his mother's sisters, Lady Jane Fellows and Lady Sarah MacCorkdale.
They had offered to lend one of Princess Diana's tiaras to the couple for their wedding.
However, Queen Elizabeth II had different plans.
She invited Harry and Meghan to a private appointment at Buckingham Palace just days before their wedding.
During this meeting, the Queen personally selected five tiaras for Meghan to choose from.
Present at the appointment were a jewellery expert, an eminent historian, Angela Kelly (the Queen's dresser and confidant), and, of course, the Queen herself.
Prince Harry described the experience as extraordinary, as they were granted access to his grandmother's private dressing room, a space he had never been in before.
Each tiara presented to Meghan was more dazzlingly stunning than the last, with options ranging from emeralds to aquamarines.
The significance of this moment was not lost on Prince Harry, who appreciated the historical lineage of each stone in the royal collection.
While Meghan Markle had the privilege of selecting a tiara from Queen Elizabeth's collection, she was not eligible to wear the famed Spencer tiara.
This tiara is reserved for women who marry into the Spencer family and adopt the Spencer surname.
For instance, Charles Spencer's first wife, Sarah Jane, and Princess Diana's brother, Victoria Lockwood, wore the tiara on their wedding days.
However, subsequent wives, such as Caroline Freud and Karen Gordon, did not have this opportunity.
Recently, the Spencer tiara was worn by Celia MacCorkdale, the daughter of Lady Sarah, when she married George Woodhouse.
However, it is important to note that Princess Charlotte, despite being Diana's granddaughter, will not inherit the tiara due to her not being a Spencer by birth.
Instead, the tiara will be passed down to Louis Spencer, Earl Spencer's eldest son, upon his father's death, as he is the heir to the Spencer earldom.
The question arises as to why Meghan was not offered the Spencer tiara while Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was not.
Prince Harry believed that his uncle and aunts approved of Meghan, seeing her as a reflection of their late sister.
However, according to Tom Bower's book, it seems that their sentiments were quite the opposite.
