Princess Catherine to Host Annual Christmas Carol Concert at Westminster Abbey

The Princess of Wales, Princess Catherine, will once again host her annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey on December 8th.

This beloved tradition has been confirmed by Kensington Palace and is eagerly anticipated by fans each year.

However, this year's concert will hold a special significance as it will be dedicated to those who work tirelessly to support babies, young children, and families across the United Kingdom.

The theme of the concert revolves around the birth of a new baby and the importance of creating a solid foundation during early childhood.

It aims to celebrate the efforts of individuals who contribute to ensuring that this critical period sets the stage for the rest of their lives.

The event is designed to appeal to everyone and will feature performances by the renowned Westminster Choir.

In addition to the choir, the concert will also include guest appearances by popular artists such as Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Jacob Collier, Freya Riddings, and James Bay.

Last year, , Queen , and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were among the esteemed guests who attended the concert together during the Christmas season.

Notably, Prince George and , the two oldest children of Princess Catherine and , delighted attendees with a surprise appearance at last year's concert.

The young royals sweetly greeted their grandfather, the King, with two kisses when they crossed paths inside the Abbey.

Although did not attend the concert, he was seen with his family during their annual church visit on Christmas Day at Sandringham.

To build anticipation for this year's event, Kensington Palace released a never-before-seen portrait of the Princess of Wales decorating a Christmas tree.

The photo captures her infectious smile as she adorns the tree with ornaments.

The Princess looks stylish in a patterned white-knit turtleneck paired with high-rise black trousers.

She completes her ensemble with a chic Holland Cooper Fair Isle sweater, featuring ribbed detailing, shiny gold buttons, and the traditional Fair Isle knitting pattern in dark blue and maroon.

This year's concert will also be connected to the Princess of Wales' Shaping Us campaign, which was launched in January 2023.

The campaign aims to highlight the importance of creating supportive and nurturing environments for children and the adults in their lives.

As part of this initiative, Lord Lieutenants from across the nation have nominated inspiring individuals, including midwives, health visitors, early years practitioners, nursery teachers, and community volunteers, to be part of the audience alongside members of the royal family.

Westminster Abbey will be beautifully decorated for the concert, creating a festive atmosphere for attendees.

Furthermore, the carol concert is not the only event taking place that evening.

The Royal Foundation will support 12 community carol services held in various locations, including Leominster, Sheffield, Hartlepool, Clifton, Uppingham, Charlesbury, Chester, Newport, Londonderry, Fife, and Bangor.

For those unable to attend the concert in person, Princess Catherine extends an invitation to the wider public to join in the festivities.

The concert will be broadcast on British TV channels, V & IVAX's, on Christmas Eve.

This allows everyone to experience the joy and spirit of the event from the comfort of their own homes.

It is worth noting that official engagements of royal family members are typically published up to eight weeks in advance.

Therefore, the December 8th date aligns with the previous two years when the concert was held around the same time.

With the anticipation building, the annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey promises to be a heartwarming and memorable occasion for all.
