Prince George’s Important Week: Exams Determine Future School

Prince George, the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, has been making headlines recently as he prepares for a significant milestone in his young life.

While his father, , has been charming locals during a visit to Singapore, his mother, Princess Catherine, has been notably absent.

In a recent speech at the United for Wildlife Global Summit, shed some light on the real reason behind the princess's absence.

“I'm delighted to be back in Singapore,” Prince William began, reminiscing about his previous visit with Catherine 11 years ago.

He then apologized on behalf of his wife, explaining that she is staying behind in the UK to support Prince George through his first set of major exams.

The crowd responded with laughter, understanding the importance of this week for the young prince.

Although Prince William did not specify which exams Prince George will be taking, it is likely that he will be sitting his upcoming entrance exams.

These exams are crucial in determining which senior school Prince George will attend when he turns 13.

The cost of these prestigious schools can reach up to £48,000 ($64,000) per year.

As any devoted parent would, Princess Catherine has chosen to stay at home to support her son during this important week.

At the age of 10, Prince George will complete two out of three steps in the entrance exam process during November.

The first step includes an ICB multiple choice exam, covering subjects such as verbal and nonverbal reasoning, mathematics, and English.

This two-and-a-half-hour exam is typically taken in October or November, with scoring adjusted for age appropriateness.

Fortunately for Prince George, he will likely only need to sit for this test once.

However, the rigorous testing does not end there.

In early April or late May next year, he will take another exam consisting of an online predictive assessment of academic aptitude and performance, followed by an in-person interview at Eton College.

By July 2024, the palace will be aware of Prince George's results.

The competition for a place at these prestigious schools is tough, even for a royal.

However, many believe that Prince George's intelligence and abilities will ensure his success.

It is expected that he will receive a conditional offer, which will require him to retake the common entrance exam in year 8.

Prince William himself was admitted to Eton College after taking the common entrance exam in June 1995, and his brother, , followed suit in the same month in 1998.

As for Prince George, assuming he receives a conditional offer after his year 6 exams, he will likely choose a boarding house in year 7, the year before the common entrance exam.

Although the specific details of Prince George's exam results will not be made public, it is worth noting that Marlborough College has been mentioned as a potential choice.

Princess Catherine, her siblings, Pippa and James Middleton, and Prince William's cousin, , are all Marlborough graduates.

Additionally, Prince George and his parents were spotted visiting Eton College over the summer, where both Prince William and attended as teenagers.

Eton College is one of the most sought-after schools in the world, and the selection process begins two years in advance.

However, it is an all-boys school, while Marlborough College is co-ed.

This raises the possibility that and may join their older brother at Marlborough in the future.

Currently, both Eton and Marlborough cost approximately $20,000 per term, with three terms per year.

As Prince George faces this important week of exams, the world watches with anticipation.

His success will not only shape his own future but also contribute to the legacy of the British royal family.

We wish Prince George the best of luck in his examinations and eagerly await the news of his academic journey.
