Meghan Markle’s Allegations of Racism: A Closer Look at the Backlash

In the wake of and 's explosive interview with , where they detailed their struggles within the royal family, many have come forward to question the validity of Meghan's claims.

Almost immediately after the interview aired, numerous individuals were quick to deny the allegations of racism made by the Duchess of Sussex.

One notable critic was The New York Post, which published a column titled “'s interview was full of bull.”

Additionally, several British television hosts went on air to express their skepticism, with one even labeling the interview as a “two-hour trash-a-thon” of the royal family.

These critics accused Meghan of lying about suffering from self-destructive thoughts.

Adding fuel to the fire, a 2015 essay written by Meghan for Ella magazine resurfaced.

In the essay, Meghan discussed her experiences with identity and race.

However, some have pointed out that her own words seem to contradict her recent claims.

In the essay, Meghan wrote, “To describe something as being black and white means it is clearly defined.

Yet when your ethnicity is black and white, the dichotomy is not that clear.”

Furthermore, a former teacher of Meghan's recently gave an interview shedding light on the Duchess's past.

Christine Knudsen, who taught Meghan at Immaculate Heart High School, spoke highly of her former student.

Knudsen emphasized Meghan's outstanding academic performance and her active participation in extracurricular activities.

She described Meghan as a bright and confident individual during her time at the school.

Interestingly, Meghan herself once joked about her heritage, claiming to have a Southern Italian mother and a white father.

According to Knudsen, this claim was supported by Meghan's appearance at the time.

Only a white father would pick her up and drop her off, and he was actively involved in the school's activities, even helping with lighting for plays and musicals.

Knudsen described him as a genuinely good, kind, and loving man who was extremely proud of his daughter.

Contrary to Meghan's assertions of being bullied and treated differently due to her race, friends and acquaintances from her school days have come forward with conflicting accounts.

They claim that Meghan made efforts to pass as white, straightened her hair, underwent cosmetic surgery to alter her features, surrounded herself with white friends, exclusively dated white men, listed her race as Caucasian on her CV, and even told people that her heritage was Southern Italian.

One friend recalled reading an interview where Meghan's friends joked about not being invited to her wedding because she had left them behind after finding fame.

This contradicts Meghan's previous statements about the importance of her mother's side of the family and being brought up by strong black women.
